Dream House = Stale Bread, No Butter

DREAM HOUSE
Directed by JIM SHERIDAN
Starring DANIEL CRAIG, RACHEL WEISZ, ELIAS KOTEAS,
MARTON CSOKAS, and NAOMI WATTS

Dream House was released to the critics only a few hours before it's midnight release. Let it be known that this is never a good sign. It is particularly not a good sign with regard to Dream House. Indeed Dream House has all of the markings of a bad movie: slow-moving, predictable, and unimaginative. The trailer is more interesting than the entire film and remarkably the trailer gives away the most interesting thing this movie had going for it, the plot twist. Imagine the trailer for The Sixth Sense revealing to the audience that Bruce Willis' character was indeed dead? Ergo, Dream House.

Clearly Nicolas Cage Is A Member Of The Zombie Horde

Nicolas Cage now and in 1870:  His true identity finally revealed.
According to Aiden Redmond of Moviefone, one ebayer has correctly identifed Nicolas Cage as a vampire or a zombie or possibly both. Thus, this ebayer has saved future generations from seeing Nicolas Cage's emotionally draining, terribly written, and overly predicatable movies. Ebayer Jack_Morde says:
"Original c.1870 carte de visite showing a man who looks exactly like Nick Cage. Personally, I believe it's him and that he is some sort of walking undead / vampire, et cetera, who quickens / reinvents himself once every 75 years or so. 150 years from now, he might be a politician, the leader of a cult, or a talk show host."
A big thanks to both Jack Morde and Moviefone. They have correctly identified an active member of the zombie horde and his movies can finally be laid to rest.

Worst Movies Ever - Alex J. Cavanaugh Blogfest

A big thanks to Alex for hosting the blogfest!
As most of us bloggers know there are is a plethora of bad movies out there.  One would dare to say that there are more bad movies than good ones, which is why the good ones stand out so much. However, most bad movies have some redeemable quality: good effects, acting, action, visuals, etc. The movies I've listed below are completely beyond redemption, in my humble opinion.

What A Beautiful Ride

DRIVE
Directed by NICHOLAS WINDING REFN
Starring RYAN GOSLING, ALBERT BROOKS, RON PEARLMAN,
CAREY MULLIGAN, and BRYAN CRANSTON

Beautifully moody, artistic, and violent -- Drive draws you in. Adapted from the novel by James SallisDrive is about a stoic and nameless driver played by Ryan Gosling. The driver lives by the mantra seen in the film's trailer: he's a man of few words, he doesn't have a backstory, and he doesn't want to be your friend. He just drives. Ryan Gosling's chilling portrayal as the driver is unassuming at first, but like this movie, he sneaks up on you.

What's Another Remake Brah?

Keanu Reeves and Patrick Swayze in their famous roles
What's one more remake to add to an already long list?  "Uncle" you cry!  "No more remakes," you yell.  Well, shut up because they don't care.  Yet another Hollywood producer thinks we're stupid.

Several media outlets are reporting that a Point Break remake is in the works.  You shouldn't be surprised.  After all if they can remake Spider Man after just 3 to 4 years, why can't they remake Point Break circa 1991.  It's 20 years old and that's a century in movie years.  They've just about squeezed the life out of the 1980s, so the 1990s offers them a plethora of recycled material to force feed a new generation.

Dragon Con 2011 - A Photo Diary

Hi all, I hope everything has been going well in the blogosphere.  I've been in Atlanta at Dragon Con for the last few days. Needless to say it's been awesome. I really enjoyed this year. Please check out our pics and stories below. This year it was a family affair. I went with my husband, two half-sisters (one from my mom's side, one from my dad's side), aunt, and cousin. Being surrounded by my family made Dragon Con even more enjoyable. I highly recommend going at least once.
