Happy Halloween Scifi Fans!

Two-year old Katie as all 11 Dr. Whos! See her dad Todd's blog for more.
Source via Blastr

I love cosplay. I love Dr. Who even more. So the combination of the two=awesome! Little Katie is too cute with her Dr. Who cosplay. In honor of the soon to come 50th anniversary, her dad Todd dressed her up as all 11 of the Doctors! See the rest here. Note: Neither Katie or her father are in any way related to me, but they seem to be a really cool family! Enjoy and Happy Halloween!

'Star Wars' Blooper Reel Found

This is a must see for any scifi fan. These 'Star War's bloopers have been unearthed by J.W. Rinzler, author and editor of Lucas Licensing's book division. I believe that this video was shown at Comic Con, but somehow it fell off the radar. Anyhoo, it has finally made its way to Youtube and now belongs to the "people." Enjoy.

I'm Obsessed With Disney Princess Art

Whether it's Dina Goldstein's provocative live action photographs of "Fallen Princesses," macabre versions of beloved Disney princesses, or Disney princesses reimagined as modern pop culture icons ('The Little Mermaid' as 'Black Widow,' 'Snow White' as 'Wonder Woman,' 'Mulan' as 'Xena: The Warrior Princess,' 'Sleeping Beauty' as 'Daenerys Targaryen', or 'Pocohantas' as 'Katniss Everdeen'), Disney princess art has suddenly become cool. Don't ask me why. And don't ask me why I like it. Perhaps it's years of subliminal Disney-conditioning? I've tried to keep my obsession with Disney princess art under control for the most part, but now there is a new subset: Disney Princesses with none other then...Dr. Who. So it's official, stick a fork in me. I'm done. I love cheesy Disney princess art.

"Sweet" 'Friday the 13th' Engagement Photos

So I guess themed engagement photos are a thing now? For those of us born pre-1990, it's so hard to keep up. But if you're a fan of the 'Friday the 13th' film franchise then you'll enjoy these photos. Back in September another creative couple debuted their movie poster engagement photos and this couple posted their zombie-themed engagement photos. Sadly, my husband and I missed the boat when we got married 12-1/2 years ago. Unfortunately, we're not nearly as creative, but then again, neither was the Internet. It's hard to believe but 12 years ago there was no Facebook, Blogger, Instagram, Twitter, Youtube, etc., and "Google" was but a newborn pup. The internet is getting old and it's taking me with it.

'Game of Thrones' Lip Sync Parody

I don't usually like these things, but this one is hilarious. The good folks at Bad Lip Reading, who previously brought you parodies of the 'Hunger Games' and 'Twilight' are at it again. This time they have created a spoof of the highly acclaimed 'Game of Thrones.' Check out their trailer for 'Medieval Land Fun-Time World.' Ned Stark (or Eddie) is the manager of a "renaissance-fair" theme park. It's six minutes of the best lip syncing this side of everywhere.

'Ant-Man'-- Who should It Be?

Variety is reporting that Marvel is having a tough time choosing between Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Paul Rudd for the role of Ant-Man. No offense to Paul Rudd fans out there, but is this even a choice? It's true that Ant-Man is not your typical stoic superhero, like Superman or Spiderman. Ant-Man is more comedic and his powers are somewhat comical. Ant-Man wears a helmet to control--you guessed it-- ANTS, and he can shrink himself down to the size of an insect. He doesn't have super strength, speed, or intelligence. So considering Ant-Man's attributes, Rudd isn't far off base, as Rudd is a comedic actor.

Norse gods Blogfest

To celebrate the release of Siv Maria Ottem's book, 'Secrets of the Ash Tree,' Alex J. Cavanaugh, author and blogger extraordinaire,  is hosting the "Norse gods Blogfest." My favorite Norse god is of course.....

'Gravity' - Go See It. That Is All.

I won't bore you with yet another review. You've heard about it a million times today. I'm sure you're coworkers have irritated you with all their 'Gravity' talk and are berating you for not seeing it this weekend. I would normally be irritated with all of the hype, had I not seen it for myself.

It's Time For A 'Wonder Woman' film

Alex Ross' 'Wonder Woman'
I love 'Wonder Woman.' I love everything about 'Wonder Woman.' She's an Amazon, she's beautiful, she's tough, she's moral, she's dating Superman, and she kills evil things. Wonder Woman is literally the perfect fictional woman. Growing up as a geek, Wonder Woman was my favorite fictional role model, not Barbie. A fan-made short film by Rainfall Films reminded me just how badly we need a 'Wonder Woman' movie. It also made me ask myself why have we not seen anything Wonder Woman-esque since Linda Carter? Mind you Carter donned the skintight leotard in the late 70's. In tv and movie land, that...was...a...long...time...ago.

A 'Supernatural' Return

I love the fall, not just for the autumn leaves, the smell of No. 2 lead pencils, and fall holidays, but for fall television. So many shows, so little time: 'Doctor Who,' 'The Walking Dead,' 'Arrow,' and 'American Horror Story.' The list goes on. Then there are all the new pilots this year: 'Sleepy Hollow,' 'Agents of Shield,' 'Almost Human,' and 'Dracula.' But my favorite show is still 'Supernatural,' the cult series with a small but dedicated fan base.
