Lucy Lawless Joins Agents of Shield, Walking Dead Spoilers, Awesome Jurassic Poster + Links

These 'Jurassic World' posters are so gorgeous that I want one for my living room...at least for summer time. Scifi artist Mark Englert has produced this most recent work for this year's Comic Con. If you haven't seen his previous artwork see Collider's site. They have a wonderful collection of Englert art. The new 'Jurassic World' poster is clearly an homage to the original 1993 film. 'Jurassic World' opens June 12, 2015 and stars Bryce Dallas Howard, Chris Pratt, B.D. Wong, and Vincent D'Onofrio.

News
It was announced today that Lucy Lawless will be joining 'Agents of Shield.' And all of the fangirls and fanboys collectively did a happy dance. Perhaps this show isn't so bad after all? Now if only the show dropped some of the dead weight in the form of Skye and Agent Ward...then all would be right with the world. No word on what character Lawless will be playing.
There's a rumor circulating that J.J. Abrams is bringing a "Westworld" remake to HBO with Sir Anthony Hopkins as the lead. I know that HBO typically attracts movie stars, but if this rumor is true then HBO is seriously stepping up their game. James Marsden and Evan Rachel Wood will costar.

Baby Poison Ivy gets a name change on 'Gotham.' Poison Ivy's real name has always been Pamela Isley. Now henceforth baby Poison Ivy will be known as "Ivy Pepper." Not sure what prompted the name change? Do the producers really think people are not smart enough to know that she's baby Poison Ivy without the word "ivy" in her name?
Ethan Hawke gets all timey wimey in a new time travel flick. Hawke essentially plays a timecop who has to go back in time and stop a disaster or something. Yeah, we've seen this before, but so what. "All of this has happened before and it will happen again." -- Peter Pan.
In other news-- Has anyone been watching 'The Strain?' io9's article pretty much sums up my feelings about it. It was just ok. I am still waiting for a show (or a film) to semi-accurately depict the CDC (Centers for Disease Control). Don't these people hire consultants? Would the CDC seriously release four people infected with a mysterious disease that had just killed 300 people? Does that make sense?

Beth gets a boyfriend on 'The Walking Dead,' in the form of 'The Fault in Our Stars' star Ansel Elgort. And all the fangirls swoon. I'm just happy that Carol and baby Judith seem to still be alive and away from "Terminus." I'm hoping that Carol will save the day. Team Carol all the way. I didn't agree with her decision to kill sick people, but at least Carol has scruples. I can't say the same for the rest of the characters.

Her Universe continues to impress me with their stylish geek girl clothes. Yes please.

  1. Lucy Lawless on S.H.I.E.L.D.? Sure!
    Remaking Westworld. Bad idea.
The Strain is following the book and yeah, I agree. Still watching though.
    Cannot wait for Guardians...

    1. I'm really looking fwd to the Guardians as well. I hope it's good. Idk about Westworld. The first one really wasn't that great. A remake could only improve things right? Especially with Hopkins. :)

  2. Finding out Xena was joining S.H.I.E.l.D. was super-exciting, already. I do wonder what kind of role she would have. I'm sure it'll be something interesting.

If it's any consolation given what happened in the Season 1 finale, I don't think it's too much of a stretch to assume Ward might have less screen time in Season 2, at least given he isn't exactly part of the regular cast anymore.

    1. John, thanks. That's the best news I've heard about that show! They need to shake the cast up a bit.

  3. Thanks for the link! Scully did have a one-tracked mind :) I wonder what part Anthony Hopkins would play in Westworld tv-show

    1. Yes she did! Me too. I assume he will play the character that is in charge of Westworld.

  4. YES! Team Carol! I didn't agree with her killing Karen and David either, but I see why she did it. I loved that promo pic of her and Judith, her giving Judith back to Rick and them hopefully making up is what I'm looking forward to the most.

I could not agree more with dropping Skye and Ward from AoS. Especially Skye.

    Ivy Pepper....wtf?

    Thank you for the link!

    1. Hi Brittani! Thanks. Yes, I really like Carol as a character. I think she's probably one of the most complex characters on the show.

  5. I'm all for Gotham at this point...just give it to me already! I don't care about the name change...they can work that in somehow, I'm sure. Odd decision, but there are ways to work it into the story.

Thanks for the link...I really appreciate it.

I can't speak much about The Walking Dead S5 'cause I'm avoiding spoilers - but I can't wait for fall.
The Strain was a little hokey for me in its production, but it had some nice moments of suspense. David Bradley was kick-ass, so I'm holding onto the show for him.

    1. You're welcome! I am still going to watch the Strain. I give a show 3 eps. If it doesn't grab me by ep 3 then I'm out. I may give the strain another ep or two before I give up b/c I do like David Bradley.

  9. I'm so excited Lucy Lawless will be joining 'Agents of Shield.' She'll make a great agent, but an even better bad guy. That super family is awesome on multiple levels. That Guardians of the Galaxy clip is a little "as you know Bob" but has some great action. I'm hooked on a feeling.

    1. Me too! I love Lucy. She will only improve that show. It needs all the help it can get. Isn't that cosplay just the sweetest thing. I love it. I'm sure you're going to be seeing Guardians of the Galaxy this weekend!

  10. Hooray for Lucy! I will have to resume my crush on her!
I am wondering why the name change for Ivy? I am hoping that Gotham is half as good a Arrow.

  11. Thansk for the link! I'm not liking that Poison Ivy, they made her into some nerdy girl when Pam's sex appeal was what made her so dangerous. I'm still hoping we will finally see proper Poison Ivy and Harley Quinn one day

    1. I agree! Why couldn't they do Gotham sans Batman? there are lots of characters besides Batman.
