BYE BYE HANNIBAL, HELLO AGENT CARTER, NO THANKS FANTASTIC FOUR + LINKS

I haven't done a fangirl post in a while. I will try to occasionally pop my head in, but I may be going on another hiatus until I finish my classes this semester. We'll see. I would love to blog all day every day if I could. Unfortunately real life prevents me from doing so. I will try to post a few upcoming reviews for 'The Martian,' 'Spectre,' 'Hunger Games,' and 'Sicario.' I had originally planned to post a review for the 'Fantastic Four' remake, but I couldn't bear to waste two hours of my precious time to see it. I love movies, but I'd rather use that time doing something else rather than watching a terrible movie. It got such bad reviews I figured what would be the point? Sometimes I change my mind and decide not to bother with a film. I'm sure in this instance I was right to do so. *Sigh. Jenna and Allie were brave enough to watch so read their review.

Well, 'Hannibal' ended it's run this past week and oh what a wild ride it was. 'Hannibal' Season 4 had its ups and downs, but it went out with a bang. However, my favorite thing about 'Hannibal' was Mads Mikkelsen, partially because I absolutely adore Mads and will watch anything with him in it, but also because the costume designers dressed him impeccably as Hannibal. EW did a fantastic tribute to everything Hannibal wore throughout all four seasons. It's epic. There's nothing better than a man in a well tailored suit, IMHO.

Watch the 'Avengers Age of Ultrongag reel. It's actually better than the movie was. No joke. It makes me love Mark Ruffalo even more than I already did.

Thankfully 'Agent Carter' season 2 will fill the television void as a mid-season pickup. I assume that means it will start air sometime in January? January is usually a dead zone for television (and movies), but someone in Hollywood is finally realizing that some people actually watch television in January. January seems to becoming a happening month...with the limited run return of the 'X-Files' also releasing in January. EW gives us a sneak peek. Not really...I don't even know why they called it a sneak peak, but there's a picture. So go look at the picture.

River Song (Alex Kinston) will be returning to 'Doctor Who' for the Christmas Special. River Song is probably one of my favorite characters ever so this is a real treat. I was very disappointed when I originally heard that they had no plans to bring River back to Who. I'm glad the powers that be changed their minds. Although it will be interesting to see how River interacts with a new doctor played by Peter Capaldi. The dynamics between River and Matt Smith's doctor were magical.

Speaking of 'Doctor Who,' my new favorite site called "A Mighty Girl" did their own compilation of their favorite female 'Doctor Who' costumes. It's really adorbs. Also, I have two items on my geekalicious Christmas list for friends and family. Have you seen these furry Chewbacca Croc shoes? They are adorable. I also plan to get someone these weeping angel Christmas lights.
Everyone knows I'm a fan of short films. Watch this sweet little short film titled 'Wire Cutter' about two robots mining a desolate planet. It kinda reminds me a little of 'Wall-E' without the hapless humans wandering around in space.

  4. Thanks for posting Wire Cutters. I really enjoyed that! For the record, I think "without the hapless humans wandering around in space" is exactly what WALL*E should have been. Thanks for the link!

And you were wise to skip Fantastic Four.

  6. I finally saw the trailer for Sicario and it was amazing! Blunt is going to kill it.. can't wait. Also, The Martian will most likely be this year's Gravity but maybe even better because it will have a more commercial appeal with the action sequences.

    1. I agree!! I can't wait to see the Martian. I'm going to try to finish reading it before it comes out. I'm a little nervous because the books are always so much better than the movies! I am also looking forward to seeing Blunt in Sicario. She's incredible.

    2. Nah, I have a feeling the movie will highlight the book fabulously. The book also has some serious science happening which I don't even understand so I'm going to be glad to see it visually, which will probably help me to understand.

    3. I'm really looking forward to the movie. Although I'm wondering how Matt Damon handles the comedy. In the book the main character seems to be so humorous. I have always seen Damon as a serious actor. I almost feel that someone like Paul Rudd would have been a good choice to play the lead.

  9. I recently read The Martian too and loved it. I can't wait for the film. I think you're right about Agent Carter airing in January. I like that, honestly. It's nice to have something to watch when Agents of SHIELD isn't on, and I love both shows. I hope more people tune into Agent Carter this year.

And Yes to that gag reel! Now they just need to show the entire Civil War trailer online and I'll stop bitching.

    Thanks for the link! :)

  12. Love the Doctor Who countdown Ms. Mariah! It's closer than I thought it is. I love River Song and am also looking forward to the new dynamic of her with yet another Doctor. how will they do it? I don't know. Agent Carter really grew on me to be honest since it has such a different dynamic from the other Marvel properties, but it earned it's place in the canon. Thank you so much for the link back and your support means so much. I really love your fan girl posts, so I'm excited! Keep sharing your passion.

  15. Just watched the 9min short Wire Cutters you shared here, the visuals are impressive, I'm not surprised it won an award for the animation.

  17. Little late to the posting... thank you for the shout out. I enjoy the score/soundtrack to the FF [For Failing] it might be the one thing to take away from it. I laughed at the Avengers [outtakes] I am hoping I have a different take on the whole film, I was not amused in way of the overall "Age of Ultron". Carter is a great show have you seen the "raising" money for charity that pits Agent Carter vs Agents of SHIELD? I really want the WEEPING ANGELS lights... rather high for only 10 lights?

    1. Oh I agree! I would like to buy those lights but they are too expensive! Thanks for the comment! It's never too late to comment! I always love hearing from you!
