Well, 'Hannibal' ended it's run this past week and oh what a wild ride it was. 'Hannibal' Season 4 had its ups and downs, but it went out with a bang. However, my favorite thing about 'Hannibal' was Mads Mikkelsen, partially because I absolutely adore Mads and will watch anything with him in it, but also because the costume designers dressed him impeccably as Hannibal. EW did a fantastic tribute to everything Hannibal wore throughout all four seasons. It's epic. There's nothing better than a man in a well tailored suit, IMHO.
Watch the 'Avengers Age of Ultron' gag reel. It's actually better than the movie was. No joke. It makes me love Mark Ruffalo even more than I already did.
Thankfully 'Agent Carter' season 2 will fill the television void as a mid-season pickup. I assume that means it will start air sometime in January? January is usually a dead zone for television (and movies), but someone in Hollywood is finally realizing that some people actually watch television in January. January seems to becoming a happening month...with the limited run return of the 'X-Files' also releasing in January. EW gives us a sneak peek. Not really...I don't even know why they called it a sneak peak, but there's a picture. So go look at the picture.
River Song (Alex Kinston) will be returning to 'Doctor Who' for the Christmas Special. River Song is probably one of my favorite characters ever so this is a real treat. I was very disappointed when I originally heard that they had no plans to bring River back to Who. I'm glad the powers that be changed their minds. Although it will be interesting to see how River interacts with a new doctor played by Peter Capaldi. The dynamics between River and Matt Smith's doctor were magical.
Speaking of 'Doctor Who,' my new favorite site called "A Mighty Girl" did their own compilation of their favorite female 'Doctor Who' costumes. It's really adorbs. Also, I have two items on my geekalicious Christmas list for friends and family. Have you seen these furry Chewbacca Croc shoes? They are adorable. I also plan to get someone these weeping angel Christmas lights.
Everyone knows I'm a fan of short films. Watch this sweet little short film titled 'Wire Cutter' about two robots mining a desolate planet. It kinda reminds me a little of 'Wall-E' without the hapless humans wandering around in space.

ReplyDelete- Allie
Hi there Allie! Sure, I'm glad to post your link! You were both so brave to watch the FF remake!
DeleteI will miss Hannibal but have started watching season 1 of Agent Carter but it's not filling me with joy so far.
ReplyDeleteHi Francis! I'm so glad you're back in the blogosphere! I've missed your blog! 'Agent Carter' had it's ups and downs, but I do love Haley. She's awesome.
DeleteGreat reviews, thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteHi there! Thank you!
DeleteThanks for posting Wire Cutters. I really enjoyed that! For the record, I think "without the hapless humans wandering around in space" is exactly what WALL*E should have been. Thanks for the link!
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome! I'm glad you liked it! I love these little short films. They are so adorable. It inspires me to write one of my own short films one day! I agree about Wall-E.
DeleteGoing all stealth mode... Funny!
ReplyDeleteThanks for linking to the IWSG Anthology Contest.
And you were wise to skip Fantastic Four.
You're welcome! I am going to try to go into stealth mode soon! I try but something piques my interest and I come back! I love blogging. Ha, I think I read your review of the FF movie as well. I'm glad I skipped it.
DeleteI finally saw the trailer for Sicario and it was amazing! Blunt is going to kill it.. can't wait. Also, The Martian will most likely be this year's Gravity but maybe even better because it will have a more commercial appeal with the action sequences.
ReplyDeleteI agree!! I can't wait to see the Martian. I'm going to try to finish reading it before it comes out. I'm a little nervous because the books are always so much better than the movies! I am also looking forward to seeing Blunt in Sicario. She's incredible.
DeleteNah, I have a feeling the movie will highlight the book fabulously. The book also has some serious science happening which I don't even understand so I'm going to be glad to see it visually, which will probably help me to understand.
DeleteI'm really looking forward to the movie. Although I'm wondering how Matt Damon handles the comedy. In the book the main character seems to be so humorous. I have always seen Damon as a serious actor. I almost feel that someone like Paul Rudd would have been a good choice to play the lead.
DeleteHi Mariah, thanks for the link, it's actually a guest post from my loyal contributor :P Oooh I LOVE Hayley Atwell, can't wait for Agent Carter season 2!
ReplyDeleteOops! Let me correct that! Thanks Ruth!
DeleteAgent Carter is a good one! And the blooper reel was fun. A break is always good, and I may take one myself soon.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the links need to visit the Geek Twins! Good luck with school!
Hi Yolanda! Thank you very much! Yes, I am a little worn thin these days, but I love love my blog. I wish there was a world in which I could be a blogger full time!
DeleteI recently read The Martian too and loved it. I can't wait for the film. I think you're right about Agent Carter airing in January. I like that, honestly. It's nice to have something to watch when Agents of SHIELD isn't on, and I love both shows. I hope more people tune into Agent Carter this year.
ReplyDeleteAnd Yes to that gag reel! Now they just need to show the entire Civil War trailer online and I'll stop bitching.
Thanks for the link! :)
Absolutely! Completely agree! I like 'Agents of Shield' ok. It really did improve this past year. I hope 'Agent Carter' does better. I adore Haley Atwell.
DeleteThanks so much for the link! I really appreciate it.
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome! I'm glad to!
DeleteAw, thanks hun!
ReplyDeleteDouble thanks for turning me on to Wire Cutters.
Absolutely! Glad you enjoyed it! I really liked it!
DeleteLove the Doctor Who countdown Ms. Mariah! It's closer than I thought it is. I love River Song and am also looking forward to the new dynamic of her with yet another Doctor. how will they do it? I don't know. Agent Carter really grew on me to be honest since it has such a different dynamic from the other Marvel properties, but it earned it's place in the canon. Thank you so much for the link back and your support means so much. I really love your fan girl posts, so I'm excited! Keep sharing your passion.
ReplyDeleteAw thanks! I will try. I wish I could blog more! I'm so excited for you both at About! I wish there was a way for me to comment on the articles, but it looks like they don't accept comments on About's site.
DeleteThanks so much for the link, glad that people are digging the header :)
ReplyDeleteI love your header. It's gorgeous. You should seriously hire yourself out! I would love a Sati header.
DeleteI like these kinds of posts. I enjoy getting your opinions on many pop culture topics. Plus adding the list of links to go to is genius. I need to steal that feature from you. Some really good stuff out there that at least deserves a read.
ReplyDeleteHi Cal! Thank you! Yes, I always love to post links that I enjoy. I hope you're doing well. I will stop by Cal's Cave today!
DeleteJust watched the 9min short Wire Cutters you shared here, the visuals are impressive, I'm not surprised it won an award for the animation.
ReplyDeleteHave you seen World of Tomorrow (2015), also a sci-fi short, I loved it!
Hi Chris! Oooo thank you for the recommendation! I love short films. I will watch that one!
DeleteWire Cutters is fantastic - kind of a robotic Laurel and Hardy short... good find!
ReplyDeleteHi Scifi Gene! Thank you so much!! I loved it. I'm glad you liked it too!
DeleteLittle late to the posting... thank you for the shout out. I enjoy the score/soundtrack to the FF [For Failing] it might be the one thing to take away from it. I laughed at the Avengers [outtakes] I am hoping I have a different take on the whole film, I was not amused in way of the overall "Age of Ultron". Carter is a great show have you seen the "raising" money for charity that pits Agent Carter vs Agents of SHIELD? I really want the WEEPING ANGELS lights... rather high for only 10 lights?
ReplyDeleteOh I agree! I would like to buy those lights but they are too expensive! Thanks for the comment! It's never too late to comment! I always love hearing from you!
