It's 2020! I'm so excited to be back talking about all of the things I love!

I was tempted to do a best/worst 2019 list, but honestly, I didn't see many movies last year. I took a 2-year hiatus in 2017 when my dad had a stroke (and passed away in 2018). My dad and I went to the movies every weekend, so we saw a LOT of movies. We weren't picky so we saw quite a few stinkers. But without my beloved movie partner, I don't go to the movies that much anymore. If I do, it's going to be a film that ranks well on Rotten Tomatoes. I also have a newish baby (he's 20 months)! So with two young children, yeah I don't leave the house much. I don't go to the movies much AT ALL lol. I'm lucky if I get to binge-watch a Netflix show. I still haven't gotten past episode 3 of 'The Witcher.' Yeah, I suck.

LEONARD NIMOY - SCIFI ICON

THE MIRACLE IS THIS:
the more we share
the more we have.

-Leonard Nimoy

Most people don't realize this, but 'Star Trek' was not at all popular when it originally premiered in 1966. In fact, it was quickly cancelled after just three seasons. Thankfully, 'Star Trek' developed a cult following and the rest is history. Despite its campiness, 'Star Trek' has brought us wondrous tales of beyond the stars and has inspired countless copycats. But perhaps one of 'Star Trek's biggest gifts was Leonard Nimoy.

Doctor Who v. Star Trek Crossover Comic - Finally!

Star Trek: TNG/Doctor Who: Assimilation #5 (Scott & David Tipton with Tony Lee. Art by J.K. Woodward)

The Wikipedia entry has a good synopsis:

Star Trek: The Next Generation/Doctor Who: Assimilation2 is an eight-issue limited series comic book written by Scott and David Tipton, with art by J.K. Woodward. The series will be published by IDW Publishing beginning May 2012 and is a cross-over featuring the science-fiction series Doctor Who and Star Trek: The Next Generation.

Assimilation2 sees the Eleventh Doctor and his companions Amy Pond and Rory Williams encounter the crew of the USS Enterprise, joining together to stop an alliance between the Borg and the Cybermen.

A Comic Book Blog has a great review of the first edition. The Comics are about $3.99 each and I believe the first few issues have already been made available. This is a must read!
