11 Is The Magic Number

I'm not sure if I can take this movie seriously.  After all it's directed by Darren Lynn Bousman, director of three torture porn films in a row (Saw II, Saw III, and Saw IV).  Don't get me wrong, I like horror films, but not torture porn.  Good horror films don't need to rely on prolonged torture scenes to scare the heck out of you.  Many don't agree with me, but I believe that there is a (at times a subtle but) unique difference.  The first two Saw films were enough.  The release of five more Saw films was obscene.

Getting back to the matter at hand, 11-11-11 is supposedly based on a real-life group that believes that the number 11 is significant and the recurrence of the number 11 is a link to another dimension, specifically the 11th gate.  The gate will be open for 49 minutes at 11:11 on November 11, 2011.  I'm not sure if this a.m. or p.m., but I guess they didn't get the memo about time being a made up concept or that the Roman calendar is off by a few years.  Anywhoo, it's an interesting concept to say the least.  If the reviews are half-way decent, I might see it.

  1. What's so dumb about thinking the laws of the universe are based on Roman numerology? Oh wait, everything.

  2. So true. I'm waiting for them to come up with a movie about Harold Camping. That's a definite Lieftime movie, or perhaps SyFy. Either would be equally bad.

Since this blog has been semi-retired I've been receiving a lot of spam comments buried in old posts. Until my blog is active again, all comments will be moderated.
