MY BEST & WORST LIST OF 2016

Whew, what a lovely five month hiatus. I'm finally posting my best and worst list for the year 2016. After this post I will probably cocoon again...popping up occasionally. Mind you I am still lurking on everyone's blogs. You may see me pop in every now and then. Although I may not update it often, this blog will continue as long as I watch films and have breath! So hopefully this blog will continue to run for a very long time...albeit intermittently.

Admittedly I have seen a good number of films this past year, but I have not have an opportunity to write about them all. The reasons why are abundant. I am in my late 30s, in grad school, have a 3 year old, a husband, and a full time job. So unfortunately this year, my blog went by the wayside.

I preface my film list by saying that I don't necessarily qualify this list as the best films of the year. They are simply the best films I HAVE seen thus far this past year. I think 2015 was a much better year at the movies. Have I mentioned that 2016 was a bad movie year?

X-FILES SNEAK PEEK, "FANNIBAL" HOPE, CRAPPY TRAILERS, + ANTMAN DOUBTS

I am rewatching the 'X-Files' on Netflix in preparation for the'X-Files' (albeit brief) return in January. Admittedly I'm skipping the episodes I didn't like, which thankfully are few and far between. It really takes me back to my young teen and early college years. Nine years of television was a really long time. Perhaps it's the nostalgia that I'm holding on to. I don't know, but I'm obsessed with all things 'X-Files' right now. Today I came across a rather cool 'X-Files' collage by Artist Mike Wrobel of Deviant Art. Wrobel has done some rather unique pieces of some of my favorite shows (excluding 'True Blood,' which I now hate watch). 'Game of Thrones,' 'Alien,' 'True Blood,' 'Breaking Bad,' and 'The Walking Dead,' just to name a few. You can see all of his collages here. I've listed my favorites below. Wrobel has reminded me that I need to rewatch 'The X-Files.' Now with companies like Netflix and Amazon, streaming is easier than ever. I recently rewatched all of 'Battlestar Galactica' and 'Supernatural.' It's nice to go back and rewatch your favorite shows from the beginning. Every time I rewatch a series, it's almost like the first time. Now that I'm a parent, my memory AIN'T WHAT IT USED TO BE!
