Sleepy Hollow Returns, Marvel Still Dissing Black Widow, Ethan Hawke is Back in SciFi + More

The Season 2 premiere of 'Sleepy Hollow' was entertaining, but cliched. If you haven't seen 'Sleepy Hollow' yet, watch the cast try to explain the show in 30 seconds. Last September I predicted that either 'Almost Human' or 'Sleepy Hollow' would like bite the dust. I'm quite surprised that 'Sleepy Hollow' with all of its wackiness is still on the air, whereas 'Almost Human' was cancelled. Neither Karl UrbanJ.J. Abrams, nor it's savvy writing could save it.

Dueling Jungle Book Movies, Huh to Exodus Casting?, News, Cosplay + More

Benedict Cumberbatch has been cast as the voice of Shere Khan in the 'Jungle Book: Origins' film. I have to say...nice vocal casting. I can't think of anyone better cast, except perhaps the sexiest man alive aka Idris Elba, who has been cast as Shere Khan in a dueling 'Jungle Book' film. I would describe both of their voices as 'growly' sensual butter, so I'm not sure which one I will prefer. I suppose it's just a wait and see type thing. Disney is doing the Elba version and master physical actor Andy Serkis is directing the Cumberbatch film. That said, it's Cumberbatch's second time round playing a Khan, so things are looking up for him. But then again, Idris Elba is just so Idris Elba. I just can't. I can't choose. I'll take one of each please.

THE 16 MOST ANNOYING CHARACTERS IN SCIFI/FANTASY TV & FILM

Allow me to pose the age old question again. Who are the most annoying characters in science fiction and fantasy television and films? I'm sure you have your own picks. I know I have mine! I'm sure there are quite a few characters I haven't thought of. I was inspired to write this article after reading a great i09 article last year, "Why Do We Hate So Many Female Characters So Much?" According to io9 it's a combination of factors:
  • -No defining characteristics
  • -Poor writing.
  • -Poor acting.
  • -Fans are often unwilling to give female characters the same slack they give male characters.
  • -"Storytellers create female characters to be love interests and nothing more--meaning they're one-dimensional."
They make a good point. Most of the irritating characters on my list are female. So I think io9 might be on to something.
