New Film From The Director of 'Old Boy.'

'Stoker' is the new psychological horror film by Park Chan-wook (director of 'Old Boy') written by Wentworth Miller. Yeah that guy from 'Prison Break.' Stoker is Chan-wook's first English speaking film and appears to be a well crafted thriller. Chan-wook is no stranger to the genre. So far, the reviews have been pretty good . Check out the trailer.
Stoker stars Nicole Kidman (Evie), Matthew Goode (Uncle Charlie), and Mia Wasikowska (India) of 'Alice in Wonderland.' It's based on Alfred Hitchcock's classic film 'Shadow of a Doubt.' When India's father dies, her enigmatic Uncle Charlie comes to town and moves in with her and her mother. India becomes both suspicious and obsessed with her charming Uncle Charlie. Like 'Shadow of a Doubt,' Charlie is more than meets the eye.

  1. I loved the original, it made quite an impression on me when I was a teenager and I saw it one night on tv. I shall give the new one a go I think. Interesting.

  2. I'm not going to lie, Nicole Kidman barely had my attention before and I'm just sick of seeing her in films now. I'm not really sure if she was actually good.

  3. I'm excited to see how this goes. Old Boy is one of those films my friends and I end up watching fairly often, for no real reason.

  4. That trailer was so creepy, I'm going to be like some obnoxious guy sitting behind you in a theater.
"Hey, they don't make phone booths that big anymore!"

  5. Alex-- I agree. The cast is fantastic.

Paul-- I agree. You can't go wrong with Hitchcock. I'm curious about the re-telling.

Tom-- Ha, you always crack me up. Nicole is brilliant, but I am kinda of tired of seeing her sometimes. She can be a little over-exposed.

A-- Yes, I'm excited to see his first English language film. The direction and cinematography look beautiful. He's cleary a very visual director.

Mark-- The trailer is creepy. I like creepy movies. I will see it. As for the phone booth, it must be set in a different era (perhaps the 70s?).
