TO DELETE OR NOT TO DELETE,? KILLJOYS THE NEXT FIREFLY,? THOUGHTS ON THE ALL-FEMALE GHOSTBUSTERS,? TOO MUCH JURASSIC CRAP + MORE

I was recently inspired to clean up my blog and delete old posts after reading articles over at Nose Graze and Elembee. I was always one of those people in the camp of "NEVER" deleting old posts. I wanted other bloggers to see my blogging evolution over the years, no matter how embarrassing. However, their articles made me curious. My blog was originally a place I posted random rants, and my love of film. When I started reviewing all of my old work I quickly realized that my early work was not very good. In fact I sucked. Some of my earliest posts were painful to read because not only were some posts poorly written, but they were short, with ill-fitting graphics.

Nicki Minaj as Spiderwoman, American Horror Story Returns, Terminator Sequels or Reboots + More

Spiderwoman variant cover in comparison to Spiderman via Bleeding Cool
Whew, this has been a whirlwind month. I've had a family emergency, a series of illnesses, and started graduate school all in the same month, so blogging hasn't been at the forefront of my mind. Seriously, I need to apologize to Ryan over at the Matinee. I haven't done a Blind Spot in months. But alas, I've kept a mental tally of everything that piqued my interest over the last few weeks.

Yes to Lee Pace, DC Comics Scared of Marvel?, Vampire Chronicles Redux, + More

Lee Pace on his cell phone during the filming of 'Guardians of the Galaxy' via twitter
Similar to Matthew McConaughey in the early 2000s, Lee Pace seems to be one of the most underrated actors around. Amazingly, Pace still doesn't seem to have the name recognition to lead a major film...until now. Yay. Pace will be starring in his very own alien v. human action movie called 'Prisoner of War.' Pace has seriously been upping his game over the last few years with roles in 'Lincoln,' and now most in the 'Guardians of the Galaxy' and the Hobbit films.

Gotham is Nitty Gritty?| Batgirl Gets New Duds| Drunks Play Street Fighter + More

I'm sure you've noticed that I've made some website changes. I'm using a new template and I'm lovin' the new look. I hope you are too. It's a lot cleaner and simpler. Simple is always good. I'm still in the process of working out the gremlins, so if you notice any bugs please send me an email. Thanks!

'Rosemary's Baby' Remake, GoTs Exhibit, Wonder Woman Shoes! + Links

Bleeding Cool
Ok, I'm working on some really great posts, but I haven't quite finished them yet, so in the meantime, I'm going to recap 'My Favorite Things' today...again. I've just seen so many great things lately!

Zoe Saldana is the new Mia Farrow in the made for television remake of 'Rosemary's Baby.' You know I like Zoe Saldana, but I don't know how to feel about this one. I'm not a Mia Farrow fan, but this goes into that (very plentiful) category of: DID THIS REALLY NEED TO BE REMADE? 'Rosemary's Baby' is a classic horror film, like 'Carrie.' Which was also (unsuccessfully)  remade last year. You can see my take on last year's 'Carrie' here. I of course will still watch it. Patrick J. Adams of 'Suits' plays Rosemary's dastardly husband in this version. It will be a four-part mini-series, which seems a little long to me. Ok. I really need to stop complaining. Moving on...

Peter Capaldi, Cosmos Returns, GoTs Photos, Anne Rice, & A Killer Cat

Ok, I've seen a bunch of stuff today that doesn't necessarily deserve it's own blog post, but the combination of all of these things, certainly deserves a blog post. These are things that made me say yay today!

Peter Capaldi, Peter Capaldi, Peter Capaldi. Some folks may not know why people are so excited about Capaldi as 'Doctor Who,' but Capaldi has been a longtime character actor and he's a huge 'Doctor Who' fan. He's quite popular in some circles and there's nothing better than a true 'Doctor Who' fan, playing 'Doctor Who.' This is always a plus.

Jurassic Park with Cats + Links

We Are Camera Studio
What if  the velociraptors running around the kitchen in 'Jurassic Park' were actually cats. Well, then you'd have a fun video to watch. Yes, you do. This is just after Jeff Goldblum's laugh from 'Jurassic Park' was appropriately auto-tuned. In other 'Jurassic Park' news Deadline reports that Vincent D'Onofrio will be the non-dinosaur villain in the next 'Jurassic Park' film reboot, 'Jurassic World.' Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard will also costar.

Blonde Ambition - Hiddles as Thor!

 photo EVnKxJE.gif
Via Screen Crush
I consider this a filler post, but it's such a good filler. I couldn't resist posting a video of a blonde long-haired Tom Hiddleston auditioning as Thor. Yes, please. I think Chris Hemsworth was well cast as 'Thor,' and Hiddeston does make a much better Loki, but I could also picture Hiddleston as Thor. Hiddles can play anything. Yes, I'm a fan girl, but that doesn't mean I'm wrong. Hiddles is a versatile (and brilliant) actor. Admittedly, Loki is a much more complex character and one that Hiddleston can properly sink his teeth into. So hurray for Hiddleston in all his blonde glory. See full video description below. This little snippet was taken from the Blu-Ray DVD of 'Thor: The Dark World,' which releases on February 25, 2014.

'Buffy the Vampire Slayer' Episodes Ranked

James Marsters as Spike in 'Fool for Love,' Buffy the Vampire Slayer (Nov. 2000)
I don't necessarily agree with this Louis Peiztman's list on BuzzFeed, but I admire his tenacity. It takes a lot of time, effort, and hardcore "fanage" to rank all 144 episodes of 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer.' Seriously there were like seven seasons on two different networks. So I have to give props to him where props are due.

Happy Halloween Scifi Fans!

Two-year old Katie as all 11 Dr. Whos! See her dad Todd's blog for more.
Source via Blastr

I love cosplay. I love Dr. Who even more. So the combination of the two=awesome! Little Katie is too cute with her Dr. Who cosplay. In honor of the soon to come 50th anniversary, her dad Todd dressed her up as all 11 of the Doctors! See the rest here. Note: Neither Katie or her father are in any way related to me, but they seem to be a really cool family! Enjoy and Happy Halloween!

'Star Wars' Blooper Reel Found

This is a must see for any scifi fan. These 'Star War's bloopers have been unearthed by J.W. Rinzler, author and editor of Lucas Licensing's book division. I believe that this video was shown at Comic Con, but somehow it fell off the radar. Anyhoo, it has finally made its way to Youtube and now belongs to the "people." Enjoy.

"Sweet" 'Friday the 13th' Engagement Photos

So I guess themed engagement photos are a thing now? For those of us born pre-1990, it's so hard to keep up. But if you're a fan of the 'Friday the 13th' film franchise then you'll enjoy these photos. Back in September another creative couple debuted their movie poster engagement photos and this couple posted their zombie-themed engagement photos. Sadly, my husband and I missed the boat when we got married 12-1/2 years ago. Unfortunately, we're not nearly as creative, but then again, neither was the Internet. It's hard to believe but 12 years ago there was no Facebook, Blogger, Instagram, Twitter, Youtube, etc., and "Google" was but a newborn pup. The internet is getting old and it's taking me with it.

'Game of Thrones' Lip Sync Parody

I don't usually like these things, but this one is hilarious. The good folks at Bad Lip Reading, who previously brought you parodies of the 'Hunger Games' and 'Twilight' are at it again. This time they have created a spoof of the highly acclaimed 'Game of Thrones.' Check out their trailer for 'Medieval Land Fun-Time World.' Ned Stark (or Eddie) is the manager of a "renaissance-fair" theme park. It's six minutes of the best lip syncing this side of everywhere.

Hilarious "Honest" Trailer From Screen Junkies

Screen Junkies
Screen Junkies got this one right in their 'honest trailer' segment. Admittedly, I enjoyed 'Star Trek: Into the Darkness,' but there were quite a few glitches. One being a pointless scene with the lovely Alice Eve in her undies. Seriously, what was the point? I'm not a prude, but I still don't get it. It made no sense. In fact, even the screenwriter I love to hate, Damon Lindelof ('Lost,' 'Prometheus,' and now 'Star Trek: Into the Darkness') admitted that the scene was absurd. See his apology. Whatev... Check out Screen Junkie's trailer. It's a hoot.

J'adore Sean Bean

Sean Bean as Boromir in 'Fellowship of the Ring'
Sean Bean is the man. He's so much more manly than Chuck Norris. In fact, Sean Bean dies in every movie (or show) he's in. It's inevitable. The enigmatic Bean has died so many times I've lost count. Mind you, most of his roles have been bad guys, but he's still endearing enough to play lovable and loyal characters like Ned Stark in 'Game of Thrones' or Boromir in 'Lord of the Rings.'

I Read It So You Don't Have To

Canvas Blog
'50 Shades of Grey' Review
I apologize in advance for the harshness of this review, but I had a visceral reaction to this book. My rage cannot be contained. I'm all for romance and I like manly men, but QUALITY I MUST HAVE QUALITY!! The review contains snippets of the review I posted on Amazon.com.

Feel free to disagree with me. I won't take it personally and you shouldn't either.

Red Letter Media Asks The Hard Questions About 'Prometheus'

Nourigat 2012 - David, 'Prometheus' parody
I think most people can agree that despite Prometheus' beautiful production values, there was a lot that got lost in translation. All I can say is that Damon Lindelof also wrote for 'Lost,' which explains a lot.

Rutro! Ryan Reynolds The New Highlander?

Somewhere a highlander fan is weeping. Variety is reporting that Ryan Reynolds is being serioulsy considered to step into the higlander's role and not lose his head. Highlander is the epic 1986 fantasy film starring Christopher Lambert, Sean Connery, and Clancy Brown, about a race of sword wielding immortals who could only die if you took their heads.
