I like to preface my "most ridiculous list" by emphasizing my love for 'The Walking Dead.' I have been reading the comics for almost a decade and I've watched the show since its debut in 2010. I'm a hardcore fan. Despite occasional problems on the show, I'm on the train until it hits the wall. Meaning, I will be watching until it ends. So in the spirit of fun, here is a continuation of the Most Ridiculous Things on 'The Walking Dead!' with 15 More Ridiculous Things on 'The Walking Dead!' You can see my original 2014 list here. Admittedly, some of the items below may be the writers illustrating that human behavior is often NOT logical.

Wonder Woman The Movie--Finally! + More

I can't believe this day has actually come. Wonder Woman is finally coming to the big screen on June 23, 2017. It's happening, it's finally happening. I just can't believe it. Yes, 2017 is a while away, but I'm just glad that it's on the books. DC Comics, you have restored my faith in comic books. I would say thank you, but the only thing I can say is "it's about time." I'm a DC fan, but I've admired how dynamic Marvel has been in recent years. For the past 40 years, DC's focus has primarily been Batman and Superman--and that's it. I'm glad DC has finally taken a page out of Marvel's playbook and cracked open their woefully underused catalog. Now Marvel can finally take a page from DC, stop making excuses, and make a 'Black Widow' film. Rant over. Now, if only DC can hire a director that is "not" Zack Synder. That is all. Whew, this has been a whirlwind month. I've had a family emergency, a series of illnesses, and started graduate school all in the same month, so blogging hasn't been at the forefront of my mind. Seriously, I need to apologize to Ryan over at the Matinee. I haven't done a Blind Spot in months. But alas, I've kept a mental tally of everything that piqued my interest over the last few weeks.

THE 16 MOST ANNOYING CHARACTERS IN SCIFI/FANTASY TV & FILM

Allow me to pose the age old question again. Who are the most annoying characters in science fiction and fantasy television and films? I'm sure you have your own picks. I know I have mine! I'm sure there are quite a few characters I haven't thought of. I was inspired to write this article after reading a great i09 article last year, "Why Do We Hate So Many Female Characters So Much?" According to io9 it's a combination of factors:

• -No defining characteristics 
• -Poor writing. 
• -Poor acting.
• -Fans are often unwilling to give female characters the same slack they give male characters.
• -"Storytellers create female characters to be love interests and nothing more--meaning they're one-dimensional."

They make a good point. Most of the irritating characters on my list are female. So I think io9 might be on to something.

"Meh" to AMC, Yay for Apes, Dr. Who World Tour, Geek News, + Cool Stuff

Over the last few years AMC has gotten a lot of press for their creative television shows--mostly good. I've been actively watching 'The Walking Dead' since its inception and I've also read all of the comics. So I'm typically excited when AMC develops a new show. As a geek and a history buff, I'm drawn to shows like 'Halt and Catch Fire' and 'Turn.' I'm also drawn to watch anything with Lee Pace or Jamie Bell. So in that regard, AMC has effectively fooled me, not once but twice this year. First with 'Turn' and now with 'Halt and Catch Fire.'

I preface this post by saying that I really enjoy this show. In fact I'm a total fan girl. I've read all of the comics, including the most recent ones and I've defended this show to haters many times before. But even I have had to scratch my head and say, "uh, that doesn't make any sense." Most of these scenes are exclusive to the television series and were not in the comics. To be fair, it should come as no surprise that human behavior is complicated and sometimes non-sensical. People do stupid stuff in the real world, so why wouldn't they do stupid stuff in the zombie apocalypse?

Today I came across a rather cool 'X-Files' collage by Artist Mike Wrobel of Deviant Art. Wrobel has done some rather unique pieces of some of my favorite shows (excluding 'True Blood,' which I now hate watch). 'Game of Thrones,' 'Alien,' 'True Blood,' 'Breaking Bad,' and 'The Walking Dead,' just to name a few. You can see all of his collages here. I've listed my favorites below. Wrobel has reminded me that I need to rewatch 'The X-Files.' Now with companies like Netflix and Amazon, streaming is easier than ever. I recently rewatched all of 'Battlestar Galactica' and 'Supernatural.' It's nice to go back and rewatch your favorite shows from the beginning. Every time I rewatch a series, it's almost like the first time. Now that I'm a parent, my memory AIN'T WHAT IT USED TO BE!

Best Scifi Movies Of 2012

Sorry, but January is a dead zone for movies and television. Everyone knows that January is the month Hollywood's for toxic waste dumping ground. Check out the NY Time's article on it. So unless it has Liam Neeson in it, I won't go see it.

'The Walking Dead' IS The Best Show On Tv

As of right now 'The Walking Dead' is the best show on television. If you haven't started watching this masterpiece of fiction unfold in your living room then you're seriously missing out. Season 2 started rather slowly, but ended well. Season 3 has been terrificly terrifying.

Walking Dead Season 3 Sneak Peek

The Walking Dead's highly anticipated third season will be returning this October. In the meantime, Entertainment Weekly gives us a first look at what's to come in Season 3. It appears that our fearless heroes have finaly made it the 'relative' safety of the prison. Fans of the comic will recall the prison as the primary location for much of the comic book series and fan favorite storylines.

Walking Dead Season 2.5 Is A Scream



If you're a science fiction or horror fan, then AMC's The Walking Dead is mandatory viewing. Last fall, the first half of Season 2 started on slow burn, but the second half of Season 2 has been great. In fact, The Walking Dead's Season 2.5  has set a new record for the network and it's parent company, Fox International Channels.

Walking Dead Season 2 Debuts With Huge Ratings

The Walking Dead debuted last night to huge ratings. 7.3 million to be exact, shattering last year's premiere of 5.3 million. This makes AMC's decision to slash the show's budget, not to mention Frank Darabont, even more mind boggling. Some have said that The Walking Dead and Breaking Bad have been victims of Matthew Weiner and Mad Men. According to Kurt Sutter, creator of Sons of Anarchy,

AMC Slashes The Walking Dead's Budget

Everyone's trying to make a buck these days and sometimes even more buck than they should. Another great show may bite the dust.  According to the Hollywood Reporter, Frank Darabont did not resign, he was 'fired' by AMC's head of original programming, Joel Stillerman.  Allegedly the dispute was over, what else--money.  For some strange reason, after The Walking Dead's breakout 1st season, AMC decided to slash The Walking Dead's budget and pocket the 30% tax credit they received for filming the show in Georgia, instead of reinvesting the tax credit into the show.  Needless to say, Darabont raised Cain about this.  That's when they told him to hit the bricks.

More of The Walking Dead Season 2

Catch an extended scene of Season 2 of The Walking Dead.  The 2nd season picks up immediately after the 1st season finale, after the destruction of the CDC in Atlanta.  The only problem I have with this series is that it's too short-- a mere 13 episodes long.  The Walking Dead returns to AMC on October 16th.

The Walking Dead Season 2 Teaser

The Walking Dead returns this October, which will not be in time to 'liven' up the ultra-boring summer tv schedule.  The most boring of which is Falling Skies.  The other snooze-fest is Alphas.  However, I'm willing to give both of these shows a chance to prove me wrong...but I don't think I'm wrong.  I have a pretty good barometer for bad television.  I've watched Falling Skies since it's premiere and it puts me to sleep faster than reading War & Peace, while drinking hot chocolate, while listening to my cat purr.  Perhaps if we had seen the actual alien invasion take place it would have been more interesting.  Alas, I don't think they have the budget for that.  But how can you go wrong with alien invasion?  Evidently, you can.

'The Walking Dead' television series starts out very similar to '28 Days Later,' however, the '28 Days' franchise stole a lot from 'The Walking Dead' graphic novels. I'm not sure if it was a coincidence or if '28 Days' stole the hospital scene right from the 'The Walking Dead' graphic novel.

The main difference between '28 Days Later' and 'The Walking Dead' is that antagonists in this series are true zombies and not just infected by a virus.  But by far the most interesting aspect about 'The Walking Dead' books is not the zombies, it's the living people.  Real people dealing with impossible situations such as a zombie or a cylon apocalypse ('Battlestar Galactica') is what separates good sci-fi from the bad.
